The true
identity of Kelleythorpe has been lost since the Driffield Bypass
was built a number of years ago but it remains an area made up of
The Driffield Showground, The Driffield Rugby Club, and the famous
Kelleythorpe Aberdeen Angus Farm and Farm shop.
In the
recent years Kelleythorpe has had an industrial estate built which
continues to grow with a large spectrum of both local and national
companies now well established here.
Kelleythorpe
roundabout is where the A164, A166 and the A163 all meet. Just off
the roundabout can be found the now empty Alamain Barracks which
over
the years has played an important role in our armed
services. The camp in only used now as a Cadet Training Centre and
the old hangers are used as grain intervention stores.
A
little further West along the A163 towards Eastburn is the The
Four Winds Court, a popular restaurant and bar serving meals and
drinks opening daily. Its restaurant is known as Fishers
Restaurant and has other function rooms for hire, now a popular
venue for dinner dances and weddings. This has also been known as
Eastburn Lodge and for many years was known as The Four Winds.
